The Scarce Migrant Birds in Britain pages are a supplement to the Reports on Scarce Migrant Birds published in the monthly journal British Birds

All records of scarce migrants in Great Britain are kept in a database with the records of rare birds (those species considered by the British Birds Rarities Committee). This enables the status of such birds to be monitored in the event of the species becoming sufficiently rare to be admitted or re-admitted the list of BBRC species, or conversely, when a BBRC species becomes sufficiently common to merit its removal from the rarities list.
